Hello, and welcome to the AeBlog! I'm Ashley Brunell, and my husband, Isaac, and I are a wedding photography team based in Camas, Washington. We hope you grab some coffee (or a sweet tea, in my case) and enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a little peek into our life!
Welcome Friends
Today is a VERY special day in our family. It is the day my life changed for the better. It is the day my water broke (I thought I was peeing my pants…), I went shopping, went to lunch, than had emergency surgery. Abigail was born. On Super Bowl Sunday in 2010. She came into the world over a month early and backwards. She was taken to the NICU right away. She took out her own IV and was able to come home on Valentine’s Day. Best feeling ever! You can read more about her stay and what happened afterwards here.
She was the first grandchild, on both sides, first great-grandchild, AND first great-great-grandchild. Yes, my great-grandmother is still alive, and it’s wonderful! She is still the only granddaughter, and she’s hoping there will be another girl born, but she might have to wait awhile for that.
In 2012, Abigail became a Big Sister. She is caring, gentle (sometimes), and loves her brother. My wish for them, is that they grow closer as they get older.
Her fighting spirit from the NICU has not left her as she becomes her own person. She has stated that she doesn’t want kids (been saying this since she was 5…three years later, I now believe her), she might get married, and she’s living with me forever. She wants to be a chef or a doctor and work with her Nana.
Abigail loves art and to sing and dance. Her favorite things about school is math and science. Abigail really wants to come with me to weddings and help assist. When I find that right bride, I might just do it. She does help me edit and pick photos.
Happy 8th Birthday to the sweetest, hardheaded, daughter, sister, and friend! It has been AMAZING watching you grow. I am honored to be given the job as your mother.
Floor is covered in articles of clothing. Shirts, jeans, jackets, sweatpants, sweaters…. I don’t even remember which ones are clean and which ones need to be added to the massive “Laundry” pile in our room. The kitchen table has a HUGE stack of mail and school paperwork on the counter and underneath that stack of […]
As I sit here in my bubble bath, (I just discovered Lush!), typing away, listening to a podcast, at midnight, on my birthday…I realized how far I have come with my business. I started my photography as an official business a little over 3 years ago and weddings FREAKED ME OUT! Until I did one. […]
December 1-7th is National Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness, and this is a story I have debated on telling. But I do think it’s important. Once Isaac and I got back from Washington State, we concentrated on what to do next, but we didn’t have long. Our daughter, Abigail, decided to make her appearance early and […]
If you missed my AMAZING wedding story, you can find it here. I remember trying to be the perfect “apartment wife”, cooking, cleaning, and trying not to sit around being a big pregnant slob. That time was super exciting; becoming first time parents, reading all the books, watching TLC, and having everything at our fingertips. […]
Before I get into all the amazing photos from my Big Day, I’d like to start with how my husband and I met: It was a December night, I was newly single, and finally able to mingle! See, I was also fresh out of basic training with the Air Force AND 21! I had talked […]
