Hello, and welcome to the AeBlog! I'm Ashley Brunell, and my husband, Isaac, and I are a wedding photography team based in Camas, Washington. We hope you grab some coffee (or a sweet tea, in my case) and enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a little peek into our life!
Welcome Friends
Your engagement session is actually the most important part of your photography experience. It allows us to really get to know one another AND it allows both of you to get familiar with the way that we work! This is so important because this is the SECRET to creating a ton of gorgeous, genuine portraits on your wedding day, even if you’re eloping!
However, I just wanted to explain a little more about why an engagement session is actually more important than you may think! I beg all of our clients to make time for one because, without an engagement session, you will have to be ok with receiving fewer portraits on your wedding day. You’re probably wondering why that is!
Well, your engagement session is more about getting you two comfortable in front of my camera. It’s less about making sure that you have a full gallery of portraits. It’s a vital part of the wedding experience as a whole. During your engagement session, I’m going to teach you about the FOUR CORE POSES and the foundational elements that make our clients look so natural and genuine in all of their portraits!
If you show up on your wedding day without knowing how we work, we’ll have to take 20 minutes of portrait time on the wedding day to rush through this content and hope that your nerves die down! More than anything, I want you to feel like a trusted friend is showing up on your wedding day. Not just the photographer that you hired. Isaac and I cherish our time during our engagement sessions. That’s when we truly get to interact with our couples and form real friendships with them!!
Throughout our years of shooting weddings, we have received quite a few complaints from brides whom we’ve never met before. They would approach us with something like ” OMG I booked a photographer and after our engagement session, I realized we’re not a good fit for each other. I am now stuck in a contract with them.” We’ve always felt so bad for these sweet brides. Photography is not something you want to be unhappy with on your wedding day!
We decided to create a system that allows us to work together before having to make that big decision of booking your photographer. We are proud to say 98% of brides who tried us out, have booked us for their wedding. This makes it where our couples KNOW for sure that they won’t be disappointed on their wedding day!! Want to book your free engagement session with me? Head over here to learn more! Can’t wait!!
When I was little I would visit my Aunt Sadie (the redhead) in Utah. She caught that I needed glasses when I was in 4th grade, taught me to ski, and now she’s getting MARRIED! I’ve known Kris for just a little bit, but it feels like she’s been a part of the family forever […]

Do you know how great it feels to be around someone who just makes you feel like you can be 100% yourself? It’s the best feeling! That’s how I felt around Dominick and Ashley! These two are incredibly laid back and joyful. Their entire engagement session was filled with laughter, and I loved every second […]
I first met Kelsi and Evan at my favorite Starbucks about a two months before their wedding! Since we knew we’d be in a rush to get the engagement session, we had no choice but to schedule their engagement session at the perfect time: Summer. In Kansas. Haha! FORTUNATELY… they’re from here, so our 100-degree […]
