Hello, and welcome to the AeBlog! I'm Ashley Brunell, and my husband, Isaac, and I are a wedding photography team based in Camas, Washington. We hope you grab some coffee (or a sweet tea, in my case) and enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a little peek into our life!
Welcome Friends
It’s March 1st, 2021! And if you’re anything like me, your life looks A LOT different than it did in 2020. Or even what you thought your 2021 would look like on December 31st, 2020.
My family and I are in a city and state that wasn’t on our radar. We sold our first house in Kansas, moved to Los Angles, lived through the first part of the pandemic in a 2-bedroom apartment, and finally moved to a house, during the second part of the pandemic, to Washington State, all in 2 years.
We now, not only have the items from the apartment, we grabbed all the stuff from our house that we had in storage in Kansas and drove it to Washington. So, what’s better than now to do a deep declutter?! My hope is the rest of 2021 is a mass declutter year. I needed the first 2 months of 2021 to get my mind around our new normal and what direction I wanted my life and business to go.
I usually do a declutter twice a year. Once right before the holidays, and another in the spring. But the last couple of years have been so abnormal that I haven’t gotten around to it.
With my home declutter, I am also upgrading to first-class All. The. Things. To me, first-class doesn’t mean expensive, it just means finally throwing away all my old t-shirts (that are 15 years old-old, with holes). First-class means having a clean kitchen before I go to bed. Having our clothes washed, dried, folded, and put away every day, so I’m not playing catchup Sunday nights until midnight. I want my days purposely planned.
I can’t wait to share this journey!
Last week I got a message from my business accountability partner Erica asking if I had written my blog post on my “why”, MY MISSION. Nope, I hadn’t. And instead of saying just that, I gave ALL the excuses as to why it wasn’t done. At this moment in time, with the world how it is, it’s easy to give in to the negativity. I gave myself a little grace from 2019 and two months to sit with what was happening around me. And it was glorious.
So, I have a confession, I don’t live in Los Angeles. But, I live in one of the suburbs of Los Angeles. “Atop the Palos Verdes Hills and bluffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It is known for large tracts of open space with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean.” (Wikipedia) You can read what […]
It has been one week since I have been back from my 3 weeks in Europe. I flew into Germany, went to Italy, flew back to Germany, then flew back to Italy for the rest of my stay until coming back to Los Angeles. With all that flying back-and-forth, packing correctly was a big deal. […]
I can’t believe I leave in a week! My kiddos are officially out of school and Oliver starts soccer camp all week 🙂 . So, that means Abigail and I will finish my cleaning schedule and she’ll help me pack.
So…I now have only 14 days before I leave! I did next to nothing last week! We had a short week with Memorial Day Weekend, and we did SO much. I had to rest afterwards. I am now in catch up mode and realizing how close it is to me leaving!! I am starting to […]
