Imagine getting an email from one of your sweetest couples saying that they wanted to jump on a Zoom call for some “Big News”. I think I had some crazy scenarios going through my head. (It is 2020 after all!) Luckily, they just wanted to move their 2021 traditional wedding to 2020 and wanted Isaac and I to come out to Yosemite National Park to capture their small, intimate wedding in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains…. I was SO EXCITED!!! This was long after COVID, travel bans, and quarantine had hit. Abby planned her wedding quickly because the current climate of the world is/was too much. Alec and Abby’s wedding day so incredibly special, meaningful, and intentional.
Alec and Abby are from California, but their mountain wedding was a drastic change from their normal day-to-day view. The views were just unimaginable. As soon as I drove around the corner of the park’s entrance and saw the backdrop, I was shocked. I hate to say it but images don’t even do it justice. It’s impossible to fully capture how grand and majestic Yosemite National Park is in real life. It’s stunning. It was still absolutely beautiful and I was able to capture images that I will cherish for the rest of my career!
Their day was so incredibly beautiful, simple, and so them. They wanted epic portraits and to be surrounded by those that love them the most and that is exactly what they got! It was such an honor to be trusted with their day and to be the ones who had the privilege of capturing such special moments.
Enjoy Alec and Abby’s wedding day and just prepare yourself…. these are portraits like I have never captured before!! I would go back and do this all over again in a heartbeat! Even the sunrise headstart hike up the mountain in the dark, that I failed to give Isaac warning of…oops.
