Hello, and welcome to the AeBlog! I'm Ashley Brunell, and my husband, Isaac, and I are a wedding photography team based in Camas, Washington. We hope you grab some coffee (or a sweet tea, in my case) and enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a little peek into our life!
Welcome Friends
I am just going to be honest. Most of the time, I’m preaching to myself with my blog posts. I’m serious. Most of my BEST blog posts have resulted from me having to learn a hard lesson.
Last week I got a message from my business accountability partner Erica asking if I had written my blog post on my “why”, MY MISSION. Nope, I hadn’t. And instead of saying just that, I gave ALL the excuses as to why it wasn’t done. At this moment in time, with the world how it is, it’s easy to give in to the negativity. I gave myself a little grace from 2019 and two months to sit with what was happening around me. And it was glorious.
I didn’t lose 50 pounds, I didn’t get super organized, my kids are still struggling with homeschooling, and I haven’t posted on social media in over FIVE weeks!! Yet, we’re at peace. This time out has given me the space to breathe and figure out my purpose, my mission.
I think EVERYONE…. even people not in the wedding industry… would agree that the photography industry is exploding. Everyone knows someone that’s “getting into photography” or is a photographer. So, how could I make a positive impact in an oversaturated industry??
It’s easy to get caught up in comparing my business to the competition. To get caught in the daily emails, social media algorithms, blog posts, but those are just tasks on a list, they are not WHY I continue to show up. Isaac and I believe that our interactions and experiences with our couples are truly unique. When we can use our gifts to come beside our couples and allow space for them to create a day they wanted without reservation. There is no greater feeling than leaving time spent with couples on the most important day of their life with full hearts, big hugs, and tired feet.
OUR MISSION in our business is to be an advocate for our couples to feel heard and loved so that we can use our gifts to create a genuine experience for our couples!
Please check out Erica’s “why”. I am so thankful for her patience and guidance in the journey.
