I remember trying to be the perfect “apartment wife”, cooking, cleaning, and trying not to sit around being a big pregnant slob. That time was super exciting; becoming first time parents, reading all the books, watching TLC, and having everything at our fingertips.
Since we didn’t have the usual wedding with a nice reception; we combined it with my mom’s Christmas Eve Party. (Cake was SUPER good…from Hy-Vee.)
Isaac and I had a vacation to Washington State to visit his family and see his family for Christmas. We were set to go after he got time off work after the holiday and our wedding reception. It. Was. A. Blast!
Once we got back to Missouri, reality hit us. Isaac was a victim of the recession and was laid off 3, yes THREE days before Christmas. Newly weds, pregnant, and we were both jobless…all before our 6 month anniversary!
