Hello, and welcome to the AeBlog! I'm Ashley Brunell, and my husband, Isaac, and I are a wedding photography team based in Camas, Washington. We hope you grab some coffee (or a sweet tea, in my case) and enjoy viewing our latest work and getting a little peek into our life!

Making wedding photography easier (and more fun!) with tips on how to own your day!

Hi, I'm Ashley Brunell

Welcome Friends

You would think that I would get tired of shooting in Downtown Kansas City. Sometimes when you shoot in the same place you feel like you can’t be creative or create unique images but this is NOT the case in Kansas City! This quaint town is full of so many tree lined streets, historic areas and iconic architecture! Mike and Jessica showed up ready to explore and that’s exactly what we did! We met at the City Market to start the shoot!

I always start our sessions with our four core poses and this wasn’t a breeze for Mike and Jessica.  They had to battle the harsh hold winter still had on the midwest in this early March engagement shoot. They are, however, pros at making each other laugh from the very beginning, (after we acclimated to the weather), I knew it was going to be a great shoot! We had the streets to ourselves and I could have kept them outside shooting for hours and hours. There are so many amazing locations that were calling my name!! :)Mike and Jessica will have an iconic October Kansas wedding.   And guess what! They’re getting married at the National Airline History Museum! I loved meeting them this past week and I can’t wait until it’s WEDDING TIME! It was a fun evening in the City and I can’t wait for you to see her second dress because it PERFECTLY coordinated with the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts vibe that I’m obsessed with!

I headed up to Liberty, MO to the Heritage Hall last Friday on a mission. I needed to capture this proposal without ruining it!! So much pressure! I hid in the dark in the back. I didn’t know anyone, and had just met Stephen moments before. Luckily, there was another photographer running a photo booth, so […]
