Welcome Friends

So, this is my FIRST blog post on my NEW website!  I am super excited to get started!  I have a TON of weddings and engagement sessions to blog, but that will have to wait until the New Year!  To start out, I thought it would be fun to give you a few facts about me and my second Lead Photographer, he will be with me full-time starting 2018!!  (We take a selfie every wedding)

Ashley Brunell – Owner/ Lead Photographer

  • My favorite part of living in Kansas are the Spring storms!
  • Fall is the best season, but I dislike winter.
  • Was in the Air Force for 6 years.
  • I started competitively swimming when I was 5 years old.
  • I met my husband while I was on a date with someone else!  (He was that smooth, lol.)
  • We eloped in Hawaii.
  • My dream vacation is to Easter Island.
  • My favorite part of a wedding day is the First Look.  I LOVE seeing the grooms get emotional.
  • Totally watch YouTube videos on how to fold laundry…Thank You Kon Mari!
  • I have two kiddos that are my world!

 

Andrew Gabler – 2nd Lead Photographer

  • I have at least 1 cup of coffee per day.
  • I took my first photography class in high school, when I was 16 years old!
  • My favorite movie is “Young Frankenstein”.
  • I prefer candid photos over formal.
  • Apple pie is my favorite pie!
  • Two of my favorite photographers are Cindy Sherman & Diane Arbus.
  • When I first started photography, I have shown my own art in 3 different shows publicly.
  • I have been in a show in Texas & New York as a model.
  • Enjoy spending time in nature.
  • Enjoy spending free time with friends & family.

Isaac and I eloped!  Since we eloped in all of the definition; it was just us in Hawaii! My mom wanted to celebrate.  The only time everyone would be together would be my mom’s Christmas Eve party, we got a cake from Hy-Vee and it was delicious!

Isaac and I headed down to Texas to watch his Washington State Cougars and the Seattle Seahawks in the new Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.  We also went to the Alamo.  The last time I was in Texas, I was in basic training in 2007. It was nice not being yelled at.
